I have more life and energy in me now than I've felt in decades. I had given up, and was just surviving to the next day. But, now that has changed. I never thought it was possible and people are asking me how I did it. My goal is for this site to provide a resource and inspiration. — Lissa Werson
The peacock represents a graceful and gorgeous array of colors reminiscent of energy and beauty. I was reminded of this with the art pieces of peacocks that my mother displayed in our family home. I also remember often visiting the live peacocks whose home was at the Children's Little Farm nearby, at Tilden Park in Berkeley, California.
As I reflect on the decades that I spent struggling through oodles of diets and programs in pursuit of weight loss, I am relieved that I have finally succeeded. While I still have more progress to be made, the worst is over, and I have gained a zest for life, along with energy and ease that I have never experienced — not even when I was a teen.
The physical energy is complimented by a monumental awakening I experienced as I learned about the Pleasure Trap defined by Drs. Doug Lisle and Alan Goldhamer. Nothing has made more sense in explaining why it is so hard to resist the standard, debilitating foods of our culture. What a light bulb moment it was to learn I no longer had to depend on white knuckling will power to overcome temptation. Armed with insights on how our mind and body have been hardwired since the beginning of time rids me of the guilt, defeat and disgust from past failures. Surely, the development of both physical and emotional energy means that life is no longer a matter of survival. Life — that is, a vibrant life — is a right of passage.
I really do feel vibrant. Hence, the name of this website as well as the symbolic display of the beautiful peacock.
Note: Congratulations on making it to this site! All my life, my name has been confusing for some to spell, so I say thank you for not letting all the Ss confuse you. If it is more convenient, you can cut "Lissas" to just "L" and use LVibrantLiving.com. That works just as well as LissasVibrantLiving.com.

My original plan was to have far more of this site ready before publishing. However, I am now convinced that many of my friends can benefit from the content I've developed thus far, and there's no need to wait. So, here it is with minimal content. I anticipate that this site will go through many changes. I hope you find it useful and that you will return to benefit from those changes. Thank you for your patience and support. — Lissa
